Source credits & licenses

Each report links to its provider. These credits acknowledge the underlying sources; agency names do not imply endorsement, complete coverage or a guarantee of availability.

Aviation observations

Public aircraft positions and published callsign-route data: ADSB.lol. API data are made available under the Open Database Licence 1.0. Observed paths are assembled from positions received by this app. An observation is not a complete flight history or a verified intent.

Offline place chooser

Place names, administrative areas and coordinates come from GeoNames, available under CC BY 4.0. The cities15000 export and administrative-area names were retrieved October 30, 2026. CASVANT selects fields, joins administrative names and sorts records for the on-device chooser. The list is not every town, a current population census or a location guarantee. No city-search query is sent to GeoNames.

Map software

Aircraft symbols and detailed-map rendering use MapLibre GL JS, available under BSD-3-Clause, with bundled third-party notices. The aircraft layer adapts its public GeoJSON symbol examples using original aircraft icons. Read the full map component license.

Street maps

Maps: OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles. © OpenStreetMap contributors. OpenStreetMap data are available under ODbL. Map attribution is also displayed directly on detailed maps. Country boundaries use Natural Earth public-domain data.

Earth imagery and illumination

Day reference: NASA Blue Marble Next Generation, October 2004; Reto Stöckli, NASA Earth Observatory / NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Night reference: NASA Black Marble, 2016; NASA Earth Observatory / Joshua Stevens, using Suomi NPP VIIRS data from Miguel Román, NASA GSFC.

Recent daytime composites and fallback terrain: NASA GIBS, using MODIS Terra/Aqua and VIIRS NOAA-20/NOAA-21. Imagery dates are displayed in the app. Historical lights do not show current outages. Solar illumination uses NOAA solar equations, calculated in the browser.

Government observations and advisories

Earthquakes: USGS. Natural-event catalog: NASA EONET and the original sources linked by each record. Weather alerts: National Weather Service. Space-weather bulletins: NOAA SWPC. Cybersecurity catalog: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities, released under CC0 1.0. Third-party material may have separate terms.

Published reports and connectivity signals

Public NORAD and USNORTHCOM releases are linked from command sources and DVIDS. Search-indexed news headlines identify their original publishers, including Reuters, AP, BBC and FCC where returned. Provider names, copyright and original links remain with their publishers. Google News indexing is not independent confirmation of an incident.

Country-level internet disruption signals: IODA, Georgia Tech. Signals do not establish a cause or the status of an individual connection. External scanner links open services such as Broadcastify under that provider’s own terms.
